What's going on here?
This draft demonstrates the combination of Flash(MX) and XML to create a gallery of images and related information.
Information about each image (including URL to original reference web pages) is stored in an XML data structure and then pulled into the Flash interface.
The jpeg files are loaded directly into the Flash interface from the server, at run time.
Future features will include interactive zooming of thumbnail images, additional information for each image, ability to add images and descriptions from scientists, and search functions, and a preloader.
